September 18 Meeting: 2025 Cal Poly Pomona Scholarship Recipients

We were joined by three of the four Cal Poly Pomona students who had been selected to receive a scholarship from the OC chapter this year. The students received their certificates from Shaun Villasenor, a former CPP student and a recipient of the OC CRFG scholarship in 2008. The students then introduced themselves and answered questions about their college experiences and future plans. This annual tradition of the OC chapter of CRFG is made possible by the fundraising efforts of our members. 

Steven Pang, Alexander Muñoz & Balthazar Pimental received their scholarships from Shaun Villasenor. The forth recipient, Ruben Yanez, was unable to attend the meeting.

We were also treated to a presentation by CPP faculty member Dr. Eshwar Ravishankar:

Agrivoltaics and Indoor Farming: Expanding Horizons for Rare Fruits Enthusiasts

Dr. Ravishankar has done innovative research in Controlled Environmental Agriculture, where he explores cutting-edge solutions to some of agriculture's most pressing challenges. His work sits at the intersection of technology and sustainability, with a focus on integrating tools like drones, advanced sensors, and indoor farming systems.
